To learn to drive you must:

  • Want to do it.
  • Be able to do it both in terms of time and money.
  • Be legal and fit to drive.

So the first thing you must do is apply for your Provisional Driving Licence.

Having got your provisional you now need to find a driving instructor. Choosing to right one is very important. Check out our blog: How to choose a driving instructor.

At driving-pro we understand that not everyone will find it easy. Your privacy will be respected. All our instructors agree to DVSA Code of Conduct. We have some handy guides for those who have some disability and want to drive.

Now you have chosen your driving instructor you need to get your lessons underway. These lessons should follow some kind of Learning to Drive syllabus.

To do your lessons you will need:

  • To legal and fit to drive.
  • Your driving licence.
  • Comfortable clothes and shoes.
  • Glasses if needed.
  • Money for the lesson.

To get your full licence you will have to pass three tests. The first two are taken together and then The Theory Test. It is made up of the multiple choice questions and a hazard perception test. Once you have passed this you will have two years to pass your Practical Driving Test.

To pass your practical test you must drive safely and with some confidence. The confidence is made up of skill, judgement and experience. We want and need to know that you will be safe on the road.
